A Bee Balm is an herbaceous perennial plant. The heads of this plant are red in color and the flowers are in the shape of claws. These grow during the summer months. The Bee Balm is also called by a number of other names. These include, Lemon Mint, Bergamot and Oswego Tea. The leaves of this plant are known to have the maximum amount of a fragrance and spicy oil. One can easily get this oil by crushing the leaves.

The Bee Balm plants are quite small in size. Overall the length barely exceeds .2 m to about .9 m to the most. It has equal spreads. These are ovate and often found to be slender too. The leaves are long- tapering kinds that are referred to as the lanceolate kind. This is one of those plants that you can always consider for bordering. They make fabulous bordering plants that look outstanding.

The flowers of the Bee Balm are bright red colored. They grow in form of head shaped cluster forms. The leaves are aromatic, and smell so good, that they can even be used in tea. Apart from tea, bee balms can also be used in summer drunk preparations. Pork dishes, salads are other places where this plant can be used. Apart from that the flowers of this plant are often used on potpourri and salads for adding up color.
